Personal Statement

I am a competitive athlete that loves to work hard. Football has been my passion all of my life. I have been crazy for football from the first time I picked up a ball. On the weekends, some kids are playing video games or going to movies; I am gathering up a group of guys to play football. The next game is always right around the corner.

I have found that I stay in better shape if I train year round, so I have applied myself to wresting and track in the off season to help me build on strength, speed and agility. I work one one one with a personal trainer weekly on football specific skills. I also take an early morning weight lifting class year round to be sure that I am constantly building muscle mass and strength.

I have found a brotherhood in football that has created a second family for me. My teammates are my brothers, my friends and, if I'm lucky, my biggest challengers. I would rather compete with the best guy on the field, since he makes me a better athlete. A lot of my teammates see me as a confidant and and a safe person to talk to if they need support. I feel like teamwork means that we find a way to encourage and challenge each other at the same time.

I am a serious student. Academics is, and always will be, my number one priority. In my house, there has never been a question of if I would go to college. The only question has been, what would I study? At this point, I plan to pursue a doctorate in psychology. I am especially interested in understanding people; why they do the things they do, make the choices that they make, etc. I am an avid reader, and always have several books going on my Kindle.

Moving forward, I really want to play college ball. I love football. It makes me feel like I can do anything. When I step out on that field, I can be anything that I want to be.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
