I know what I want. I want football to be part of my life beyond high school. And, I’ve known that since I started playing in 4th grade.
I am a team leader, a self-starter, and am always pushing the person next to me to do better than they did yesterday. I am coachable and strive to be the best and hardest working player on the field. Thanks to my teammates, I am able to practice my skillset year round with route drills, weights, speed drills, and 7-on-7. I attend annual camps at Eastern Oregon University and University of Montana and participate in gymnastics and track (100m, 4x100, triple & long jump), all of which have been critical in helping me become a well-rounded football player. I have good route finesse, quick feet, and soft hands. I am ambidextrous – I’m a “leftie”, but I throw and kick with my right. I have played multiple positions over the years - defensive end, safety, corner, wide receiver, & slot receiver – giving me a high awareness of the game.
When not on the field, I enjoy snowboarding, wake surfing, and helping with local events. I have been actively involved with the local Rotary Club’s annual charity race since 2011 and volunteer for the area youth football camps each year. (After school, I would love to find a way to help rural-area high school athletes become more visible, giving them better college opportunities.) During the summer months, I work for a local farmer, and, in the winter, I work in the rental shop of a ski resort.
I am looking for a school that has a communications program, where I can work towards a career in sports broadcasting, with an emphasis on football analysis. I need to be in an environment that has a good balance between academics and sports and one that will stress the importance of character and drive. This will help me achieve my goals of becoming stronger, smarter, and more disciplined after school, when I plan to find my place in the sports industry.
