Personal Statement
Hello my name is Malcolm Nelson I am a running back and full back from Aurora, IL. I graduated from Metea valley high school back in 2014 and after I graduated I attended Midwest Prep Academy. My reason for attending there is because I didn't have great recruiting coming out of high school. I attended there for 4 months and by the end of the season I got recruited by Missouri Southern State University. When I first got down there I was promised a scholarship and a week later the whole coaching staff got fired, so I was faced with trying out to make the team. I made the team and I was suppose to play, but my running back coach wouldn't let me because I didn't have money to my name. The following year coming off of a great spring ball a day before I had to report to fall camp my coach calls me and tells me not to report back. I still reported to compete for a spot on the team. My running back coach eventually cut me because he told me that he doesn't need me anymore, so I tried to stay in shape and focus on my school work and also went to church to pray that everything will be ok. I am now at Wintson Salem State University a Division two school in Winston Salem North Carolina and my first semester down here I tried out for there football team all I did was run one forty and we were finished. I didn't make the team because there were too many running backs at the time and also at the time I weighed 250 pounds. I hired a personal trainer at D1 sports training 1901 Mooney St, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 if you have any questions regarding myself please fill free to contact Jonna Gentle at (336)-608-0980 . After 5 months of training I got down to 217 pounds. I came back in the summer to tryout again and made the team so they say, but I haven't been apart of any team activities. so I'm now staying in shape and focusing on my studies. I currently have a 2.8GPA and shooting for a 3.0. I also still have 3 years left of eligibility. My dream is to receive my degree and later down the line become a physical therapist. I pray that I can be apart of an organized football program and I'm also pray to keep my football career alive. What makes me a good candidate for your team is I won't stop until I get the end zone and I'm hungry for success on and off the field.
