Personal Statement
In school: Academically & Athletically, I strive to be the best I can be. I push myself in my classes, while participating in the top concert band, a jazz band. I take five honors classes, my favorite being math and history. In the fall, I lead the lineman on the football team. I take a lot of pride in being a coach out on the field. I encourage my lineman brothers to push themselves to their limits, and not settle for anything less than the best we can be. When football season ends, I'm in an after school lifting program to get better and stronger. During the spring, I throw shot and discus, and have distances of 45 ft in shot-put and 107 feet in discus. I love to compete!
My biggest dream is to participate in football for as long as I can, whether I’m on the field making plays or calling the plays from the sideline as a coach. No matter what I do, I plan to be a leader on the field and help those around me to get better. After I go through college and earn my degree, I dream to play in the NFL as a defensive end. When my career in the NFL ends, I plan to become a teacher and a coach at the middle school or high school level. Hopefully through my experiences I can inspire my students and athletes to pursue a future in which they are able to do what they love every day.
