My name is Ryan Ford. I am a 5'11" 175 lb. Junior. I play Strong Safety and have played Corner Back (pretty much all of the DB positions), Kick Returner, Punt Returner, Running Back and i also play on Kick and Punt coverage. All of my stats are listed on the NCSA pages so I am going to use this space to speak from my heart about football. I have played football since i was 7 years old and have been around football since before i could speak. I have two older brothers that played football through high school and some of my best memories were on Saturday and Sunday mornings at a football field watching and imitating my brothers. Football has not only taught me some of my best lessons but it has also enabled me to make some of my best friends and acquaintances that I will keep for life.
I play varsity football at Huntley High School in Huntley, Illinois. We are an 8A school that plays in the Fox Valley (Valley) Conference. In my junior year our 2014-15 season we tied a school record for wins (8-1) and made the playoffs for only the fifth time in school history. Our only loss came to the 6th ranked school in the state.
I believe that my speed (4.49 - 40) and my tackling skills are two of my best assets along with pass coverage and run defense skills make me an all around defensive player. I believe all three phases of the game are important and my ability to play multiple special team positions will make me an asset to any coach or team that i am lucky enough to play for. My coaches have already spoken to me about playing the fourth or fifth wide receiver position in my senior year and i am looking forward to the new challenge. I would prefer to play Safety but i will leave that up to my next group of coaches to decide where i can best help my new team win. I truly believe in the concept of TEAM and that no matter how much you can accomplish alone being a part of a team can multiply that many times. Being a part of a team has taught me that we all have strengths and weaknesses and by working as a team we will maximize our strengths and minimize our weaknesses.
