Personal Statement
My name is Chuck Norgle,III and I'm from Downers Grove, IL. I'm a senior at Montini Catholic in Lombard, Il where I am the starting QB of my varsity football team and a member of the National Honors Society.
I can successfully run a pro-style offense where I have to throw from the pocket. I consider myself a pro-style, pass-first QB who can also make plays with my size (6'3" 215) off the edge to move the chains. My primary responsibilities as QB are to be accurate with the football and to make good decisions. I have consistently been acknowledged for depth of playbook knowledge, ability to read defensive coverage, strong arm with high ball speed and most often, proudly, my ability to lead a drive.
I'd like to attend a great college or university with a broad range of strong academic program and play football at a highly competitive level with outstanding coaches. My ideal athletic environment is one where there is great team unity and where my teammates are as strongly committed to their grades as they are on the football field. It would be great to play in one of the major conferences, but it's more important to me that I attend a strong academic school with an interesting and diverse student body and great campus environment. Although I see myself as a D-I and FBS football player, I am also interested in the Ivy & Patriot League as well as high academic D-III schools.
I'm taking two AP courses and two honors courses and I' m a member of the National Honor Society. My primary academic goal this semester, and every semester, is to achieve High Honors. I have held my held my GPA above 3.5 throughout high school. It is currently 3.74. My current ACT composite is 31 with a superscore of 32.
In college I plan to major in Business. I was fortunate be selected by the Village Council of Downers Grove (pop 50,000) and then appointed by the Mayor to be a Youth Commissioner. It was a long highly selective process. I act as a youth liason between the Village, its citizens and local businesses for Village Community Events. Our aim is to keep all parties happy. They have entrusted me with a full voting right at commission meetings. I have also worked as an aid to the campaign manager for an Illinois State Senator, won a state wide creative writing contest for our school that brought in the Chicago Cubs baseball team and personalities from WGN media for an all school assembly. I have other accomplishments and volunteer activities listed in this NCSA profile but, in essence, I always seem to be they guy who is "the organizer" in the group. Especially when it's seems to be difficult project or involves a lot of significant interaction with adults, my friends always point to me.
After graduating from college I would love to pursue opportunities with professional sports at an athletic or business level. I will also pursue a graduate degree.
