Personal Statement
To whom it may concern,
My name is Jonathan Lubanza. I am from Rwanda, Africa but I grew up in the United States of America. My dream is to be successful in life. I will graduate from high school this coming May 2014. I want to pursue a career in direction of physical therapy in a University. Given the background of my country, I have a burning desire to take advantage the opportunity that was granted to me. There are a lot of people back in Africa who would love to come to this freedom country and pursue the dreams but cannot. I'm determined to make myself, parents, coaches and everyone who played a role in my life proud.
My passion for football started early on in my life. I have been playing football since I was 7 years. I grew up watching and playing with my older brothers then it became a part of me that I cherished. Apart from the fact I love playing football, it also helps me stay focused on my education path. It keeps me busy that the little time I have is usually spent wisely. There is a lot of things which influence people in wrong directions when they are not in sports, I am thankful for football because It keeps me away from those things.
I played football for Naperville Central for 4 years. I am very excited because the hard work and dedication we as a team paid yield the results of Championship in our division. I was starter the whole season and playoff games. I am very proud and happy for our Coaches who were able to train and shape us into a championship team after more than 2 decades since the last championship of the school. During the championship game, I made 15 tackles and an interception. I feel blessed to have contributed to the legacy of our school.
My goal is to be admitted at 4 year University which has a great academic record and a great football program. I would prefer division 1 School but I am also willing to look at all the opportunities present. As of today, I am hoping to earn a bachelors degree at the Institution that accepts me. I would like to continue pursuing football as well. Feel free to contact me if you have any question or you can contact my coach for reference.
Thank you
Yours Sincerely,
Jonathan Lubanza
