Personal Statement
I have been a three sport athlete (football, hockey, baseball) since the age of five. I love and have always loved the many positive benefits that come with team sports and athletic competition. Football and hockey have always been my top two sports.
FOOTBALL: as freshmen our team was undefeated and won the conference championship. Last year as a sophomore I was fortunate enough to start and contribute on the varsity team. We were co-conference champions and made the state playoffs.
HOCKEY: I played on the high school varsity team during the Spring, 2013 season as an 8th grader and again played varsity as a freshman during the 2013 - 2014 regular season. During the regular season our team did well in conference play and made the state playoffs.
BASEBALL: I played center field on the freshman team. My bat speed, overall mobility and speed on the base paths helped me contribute to our teams' success.
This past fall I made the very difficult decision to focus 100% of my athletic effort on football as football is my best sport overall, the sport I love the most and the sport I would most like to play at the next level. Much of my free time is now dedicated to improving as a football player via weight training, speed & agility training, improving my route running and competing with the Midwest Boom in 7 v 7 on a national level.
I am as committed to my academic success as much I am my athletic success. I realize that this is an ongoing process and that I need to put my time in to succeed in the classroom. I have my eyes set on the ACT next spring and have begun to prepare for this test on my own after hours.
People have told me that I am a good teammate and possess strong leadership skills. I feel good that people feel that way about me as I work hard every day to be a good person.
I am fully committed to doing everything I need to do to compete at a high level following high school. Thank you for reviewing my profile.
