I'm a 6'2", 265 lb offensive and defensive lineman from Carlinville, IL. I was a starter on the Freshman team for the 2011 season, started JV and played Varsity during the 2012 season, and saw a lot of Varsity playing time during the 2013 season. In the 2014 season, I am currently a defensive line starter at nose tackle. I was the Defensive Player of the Week for week 6 of the 2014 season. I am also the backup center. Right now, I lead the team with offensive yards after a fumble recovery, with 22 yards. So far this season, I've recovered two fumbles, have one sack, and 11 tackles. Our high school team, the Carlinville Cavaliers, has a record of success and regularly completes at the state playoff level. We are currently ranked 5th in IllinoisHighSchoolSports.com Class 3A state rankings. Our 2012 season ended in a heartbreaking, second-round, one-point loss (50-49) to Casey-Westfield and our 2013 season also ended with a disappointing second-round loss in the state playoffs. Since 5th grade, when I was first able to play football on our local JFL team, I’ve had the goal of playing college football and I’ve worked hard and attended many years of camps (Greenville College and FBU-Indy) to actively try to become the best player I can be. Academic success and consistency are also important to me. Currently, going into my Senior year, I have a cumulative GPA of 3.92, with a course load that includes AP Math, English, and History courses. I enjoy school and have received the Illinois Young Achiever’s Award, where the selection criteria included character, academic achievement, community service, and extra-curricular involvement. I was named to the South Central Conference Academic All-Conference team for the 2013 football season, and received the IHSA Scholar Athlete Award, the Carlinville Lions Club Academic Excellence Award, and the 2013 Fitness and Conditioning Award. I attended the week-long Illinois American Legion Premier Boys State leadership camp this past June at Eastern Illinois University, and I’m an active member of the Carlinville Emmanuel Baptist Church. I am a very team-oriented player and would love to play college football at a school and for a coach who appreciates my integrity, character, hard work, and leadership skills. I’m from the Midwest, but would consider any area of the country to play for the right program and school. I’m excited at the prospect of continuing my football career at the college level.
