Personal Statement
My name is Matthew Judd and I am very interested in playing college football. I come from a football family and have been playing since 3rd grade when I was the backup QB/MLB on the 5th and 6th grade team at St. Rene Goupil in Chicago, IL.
My family relocated to Frankfort, IL. in 2009 and I played for the Frankfort Falcons for 6 years. My team played in 6 Super Bowls winning 5 in a row. I was a starter on all of those teams. I believe it was here where my love for the game has grown into what it is today. Teamwork, Character, Responsibility, and Hard Work is what I have gotten from the game and made me the person that I am today.
I am am currently in my Junior Year at Lincoln Way East High School in Frankfort, IL. with a 3.5 GPA. I am 6 2” and weigh 180 lbs. This year I played some Quarterback, Wide Receiver, and extra point and field goal holder. I also put some time in as the punt returner. as a Freshman and Sophomore I was voted team Captain by my team mates. Our Freshman and Sophomore teams both won the Conference Championships and I was awarded an Athlete Scholar award at our team awards dinners both times. This year, we are the Illinois State 8a Champions.
I was a member of the Varsity Track team as a hurdler in an effort to be active in my school while becoming a better athlete. I am currently training for track at Graf Speed Enhancement in Joliet, IL.
I have been seeing a QB Coach (Quarterback Farm, Oswego, Il.) for the last three and a half years and feel that my fundamentals have greatly improved. My arm strength has definitely gotten better as well. I plan on seeing him throughout high school and beyond. I also try to be involved in activities that are related to football such as 7 on 7 teams(Midwest BOOM) and football related camps (BO Jackson Dome, Lockport, IL.). I plan on putting in the time this off season to get better and gain strength to lead my team to another state championship.
In college, I plan to major in either Communications or Business Management with the goal of having a degree to lean on when football is over.
