Personal Statement
From an early age i realized my love not only for football but for competition overall. My father played Big 10 football in college and my mother and older sister were both involved in volleyball. Needless to say, I come from a pretty competitive family. Whether it was in our home or out enjoying some recreational activity there was never a doubt that a game or competition would evolve and I hated to lose at anything.
A multi-sport athlete most of my life I found myself gravitating towards football as more time went on. I was fortunate enough to win many championships throughout those years but I also experienced some pitfall seasons. I wouldn't change any of those seasons. I learned valuable lessons about teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership from each and everyone of those.
My "hate to lose" attitude also carries to classroom where I take much pride. The lessons I have learned in athletics have translated well into the academic arena and have resulted in various academic awards and achievements. I am seeking a collegiate program that will be a good fit for me both athletically and academically. I believe I have the talent, character, work-ethic, and leadership both on and off the field that can make an impact at the next level.
