Colin McGovern '13 Recruiting Profile

Thank you in advance for your time and allowing me to introduce myself to you.

My name is Colin McGovern. I’m a 17 year old High School Junior at Lincoln Way West High School, in New Lenox, IL.

My interests are my family and friends, school, football, and baseball. Being challenged in the classroom, the weight room, and on or off the field motivates me to do my best.

This year I was the starting Offensive Left Tackle for the Lincoln Way West Warriors Varsity Football Team. In certain situations, such as goal line stands, I was also utilized as a Defensive Tackle. In the fall, preparing for the football season, I lifted my way into the Thousand Pound Club with a combined weight of 1,065 pounds.

At the end of the season, after securing a shared Conference Title with a 7-2 regular season record, I was nominated to the All Conference First Team Offensive Line. This is very meaningful to me, as I was the only Junior on the team to achieve this honor.

I am looking forward to finishing my high school career and finding a quality university that will challenge me, both academically and athletically, preparing me for adulthood. My academic interests, at this time, are in the Business Management arena. My athletic interests and goals are to continue playing football and baseball at the high school and collegiate levels.
