Personal Statement
I am driven to play football at the highest level. I understand that it takes hard work on and off the field as well as off season to perform at the highest level I can achieve. My ability to play in college also requires focus and performance in my academics. I spent the past two spring seasons at AWP improving my speed, agility and explosion.
I was varsity captain my Senior year and started at middle linebacker and tight end. I lead the defense and called the defensive plays on the field and have done this since my sophomore year. I started at varsity my Sophomore and Junior year at both middle linebacker and fullback. I led the team in both tackles and sacks my sophomore year and second my junior year. The senior captain who led the defense and called the defensive plays was injured the third game of the season my sophomore year and I had to step up and call the defensive plays for the remainder of the year. I lead by example both during the games and at practice. I strongly believe that the effort you put in during practice equates to success on Friday night not only for myself but my teammates.
I want to actively play football at the college level. A goal of mine is to be a part of a team with drive and dedication to win. I love the game of football and want to utilize my skills and abilities to further my education and have fun playing football.
