Personal Statement
I am a three year starter at defensive end. I was selected as second team all NHC during the 2013 season. This season I will switch from the weak side of the line over to the strong side, and provide outside containment in our four front, while helping to make pressure up the middle in our three front. In the 2013 season, I was second on the team in tackles for loss. This season I am a team captain, and hope to help lead my team deep into the playoffs. I am very dedicated to the weight room, and I was one of only three juniors in my school’s history to achieve the 1000 pound club. I currently hold the school record for power clean at 310 pounds, and I hope to keep making gains. I also take part in my school’s interact club, which is a service based club with the purpose of making the community a better place. Along with practices and workouts for football, I am also able to balance school work and a part time job while still maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I have achieved high honor roll every semester in high school while taking many honors and AP classes. I scored in the top three percent of the nation on the PSAT, and my score will be commended in September. My high grades, as well as the many hours of community service I performed during the 2013 summer allowed me to become a member of the National Honors Society. I plan on finishing high school while maintaining my high honor roll status. In college I am looking for a good premed program in order to set myself up for success in medical school.
