My name is Brandon Lockart, and I am a senior at Mt. Vernon High School in Fortville, IN. I am a 5'8" 195lbs. linebacker/offensive tackle. I have also been fullback and played on special teams. I have been playing varsity for 4 years and started varsity for 3 years. Last year I earned All-Conference Honorable Mention as linebacker, and received a total of 104 tackles with one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, 4 tackles for loss, and one blocked punt. I have been a team/defensive captain for 2 years. I am an effective team leader on and off the football field. I have held many leadership roles throughout high school such as Class President and Vice President for Student Government, Mentor Leader, Prom Committee Officer, and I also work with other clubs in our school when needed. I am a very hard worker and I do not accept failure. I do not believe in quitting or giving up on anything I do. I will not back down from a challenge, and I will give over 100%. I am the type of person that puts their whole heart into everything they do. I absolutely love playing football, and it is something that I am very passionate about. I am willing to play any position on the football field. For example, this year my head coach asked me to play both offensive tackle and linebacker for the team, and I agreed to play anywhere that he needed me to play in order to help out the team. Ever since I was a little kid, I have dreamed of playing college football after high school.
I am looking for a school where I will be able to have the correct balance between my studies and sports. I want to go to a school where I will be able to pursue a good education and receive a degree. I am looking to major in Physical Education, Athletic Training, or Sports Medicine. I would like to attend a college that is close to my home state of Indiana, but I am open to attend any location. School size is no problem for me, and I am open to any and all opportunities. My desire is to be able to play at the highest level possible, but I realize that my best options might be at a DII or DIII school. We will be applying for financial aid such as FASFA in order to assist with the cost of college. I hope that I have the chance to prove myself at the college level and contribute both on the football team and in the classroom.
