Personal Statement
I'm Jake Slager, I play football for the Lowell Red Devils, I don't play football because I think its cool or because I have to, I do it for the love of the game. To me there is nothing like the feeling of stepping out on to a football field and putting it all on the line for your team. It is my dream to play football at the next level, I am starting the preseason of my senior year and as my final season approaches I don't want it to end for me this fall. I want to go to college earn a degree and play football. To me it doesn't matter where the school is what level it is, I just want to earn my education and play football while I am doing that. I believe that I can better any team at any level in the entire country because of the level of hard work that I put out on the field, in the weight room, and most importantly what I do in the class room. I have worked hard in school because my whole life my parents have told me that my grades are my future, without grades their is no college so I have always stressed to work hard in the classroom. I want to earn a degree in education, so I can fulfill my hopes of becoming a high school teacher. I also believe that I am a very strong leader, I push myself to my limits and I aim to bring out the best in my teammates because I know that with out my teammates I am nothing because football is not an individual sport and a team is only as good as its weakest link. The way I feel is that if I can make the weakest links stronger that makes any team that I am on better, that is how I have always felt throughout my sports career and hopefully I can bring that with me and be successful in a college program.
