I am a senior at Penn High School in Mishawaka IN. I am a 5'5" 160lb starting running back for the varsity team. My max bench is 310lbs and my max squat is 480lbs. I have been told by my head football coach that pound for pound I am one of the strongest players on the team and he has put me on offense, defense and special teams.
My football team is one of the largest in the state of Indiana. We have about 100 plus players on our team. I am currently the fastest running back on the team running the 40 yard dash in 4.50 seconds. I not only play a running back but I am also playing defensive tackle throughout the game. Because of my strength the defensive coaches have seen a benefit to me being a defensive tackle. I am also on the special teams as well.
I work out every morning before school starts. I then go to school and practice. At least 2 days a week I go after practice and on Saturday to work with my personal trainer on speed, agility and strength. I do this and still have been able to keep my GPA around 3.4.
I really think I could benefit your program in a number of ways. I am a highly dedicated athlete. I train 4 days a week through the whole off season and 2-3 days during the season with a personal trainer. Even though I put a lot of time into training I also put a lot of time into my education. This year I took a college course that my high school offers to obtain some college credits, along with other classes to help prepare me for college like Algebra II, Physics and 2 years of Spanish. I also bring a positive energy to the people around me. I have been told by both my position coach and my head coach I am a silent leader. My team mates see me working hard and what I have been able to accomplish despite my size and they want to work hard as well.
