Personal Statement

I am a 6'1 linebacker from Newburgh, Indiana and I will graduate from Castle High School in May 2016. I am very serious about continuing my football career at the collegiate level. In my Senior season, I led my team in tackles and I was chosen as a Team Captain and received the Defensive MVP award. Also, I was awarded AP (5A) All-State Linebacker,First Team IFCA (5A) Senior All-State Linebacker, First Team All-Conference and All Metro LB.  As a junior, I led my team in tackles and was chosen First Team All - Conference and IFCA (5A) First Team Junior All-State linebacker. I started varsity my sophomore year. In addition to football I also ran the 100 meter and 4 x 100 meter relay on the track team. My relay team competed in the regional finals and I received my varsity letter. During my freshman year, I was chosen as a Team Captain and received the team Defensive MVP award. Also, I was a starter on my freshman team and was pulled up to varsity mid-way through the season to start on special teams.

I am a leader on my team and work extremely hard to perform at my highest potential, while encouraging my teammates to do the same. Ideally, I would like to attend college within a day's drive from my home in Newburgh, Indiana. In addition, I would consider schools where the athletic environment is one where I could make an immediate impact on the team . I am open to considering various kinds of schools that will allow me to get a solid education while playing football. I am interested in several different majors including criminal justice, education, history, communications, and sports administration. When I graduate from college, I plan to use the life skills I have learned from playing football and my classroom education to attain a job where I can begin building a successful career.
