I love the game of football. Ever since the first time stepped onto the field, I knew this was my passion to play the game. I first started playing in 5th grade. I first started loving the game of football when I was younger, going to the high school football games and watching the games through the fence while occasionally playing little games against my friends. But, as my friends and I started growing up and still playing, my "friends" turned into what I call my family. I don't call my football teammates just other players, they feel like my brothers that I never had. I soon found out that football was my passion and that I loved football instantly.
Through my years of playing football, it has taught me a numerous amount of things. For one, football has taught me how to be a leader. I am the QB for my team and to be a QB you have to set an example for everyone. If you have a bad attitude, then your teammates will have one. If you are working hard, then your brothers will work hard with you. Football also has showed me how to stay dedicated and committed to the sport. To lay this sport, you can't just work on your game in practice, you have to work outside of practice with your receivers, always be the last one off the field, and work harder than ever and push myself to be the best I can be. Staying dedicated and committed shows that you love the game. Finally, football has taught me how to be a team player. You can't just be a one man team, you have to have people block for you and have 11 guys play against 11 guys. Not just 1 or 2 against 11. Everybody has to work together to strive to be successful and being a team player is what I am all about. Football has made me the best role model, someone that other people look up too and want to be like, I can possibly be.
My freshman year, I was a running back on the JV team and started. We had a really good season. My sophomore year, I got moved to QB and my first time ever being a QB on JV and occasionally on Varsity, I led us to an undefeated JV season. Then, my junior year in 2015, it was my starting year and first time being a varsity quarterback. I also was the punter too and played safety. The 2015 was a great year and we won sectionals and went to regionals, but sadly didn't make it out of regionals. But, I came out with great awards consisting of: 2015 Junior All-State punter, made the 2015 Associated Press Indiana All-State football for punting, All-Conference 2nd team, and made the 2nd Team for the Kentuckiana Sports Awards Program. My 2015 season was a true highlight season for me and my team.
Not only do I play football, but I also play basketball and run track. Track really helps me stay conditioned throughout the year for football and basketball does too. Every sport I play, I work very hard at it and it helps me with football. I am committed and dedicated to football and work extremely hard to increase my strength, endurance, knowledge, and my mental toughness. Not only on the field, but I am also always hard working on the academics side of football. I take school very serious. I want to go to the college to play football. I do not want this season to be my last season of football. I am truly looking forward to playing in college and am willing to work hard as I ever have. Like I said before, you have to be committed and dedicated to show you truly have the heart for the game. I love the game of football!
