Personal Statement
My name is Jackson Long and I have been playing football since I was 7 years old. The hardest part of making this account has been trying to convert all of my passion and fire for the game and life into a brief paragraph. Next to God, my family, and school, football is the most important thing in the world to me. What separates me from the other student athletes in my class is the drive to be great both on and off the field. After only playing limited time on varsity my freshman year, I took to weights and speed training in the off season. I worked harder than I ever had in my entire life both in the weight room and classroom. I learned that things in this world are earned, never given. Thus, I am now working very hard to earn grades that show my true academic abilities. When the 2015 season came around, I started every game at Middle Linebacker with the exception of the two games in which I was forced to sit out of due to injury. While I was out with a dislocated shoulder this year, I made sure to take every opportunity to cheer my teammates on and give them advice based on whatever I observed related to our opponent. My dream is to play collegiate football at a school that offers a quality education and one at which I feel truly at home. I aspire to become the best student, person, and football player I can be from now to my college graduation. My current challenge is discovering which college will be a part of my journey.
