Personal Statement
My love for football came when I was in the 6th grade when my PAL (Police Athletic League) team went undefeated and won the city championship. I was a three sport athlete and until then football was never my top focus. After that championship, I truly fell in love with the game. I’ve wanted to play a college level sport since I was a very young boy. As soon as I knew I was serious about football, my ultimate goal was to play collegiate and eventually pro football. I understood at a early age if I was going to fulfill my goal of playing in college, I also needed to excel in the classroom. My current GPA is a 3.68 with an expectation to raise it over the next couple of years.
I have been the captain of our JV team for both my Freshman and Sophomore years where we went undefeated and won both conference championships. The beginning of this season, I also played on our varsity special teams and occasionally took reps at receiver. By the end of the regular season, I had worked hard to become a full time, two-way starter that continued through to the state title game. We went on to lose the Class 2A State Championship by one point. That experience of playing in Lucas Oil Stadium will continue to drive me to become a more complete and competitive football player. My versatility on both offense and defense makes me a good fit in multiple schemes and at any position on the field.
