I started playing tackle football in 3rd grade. I hit a growth spurt about 5th grade where I was a lot bigger than the other players. At that time I just got a feeling that I wanted to try and play football after high school. I was bigger than most others so by the rules I could not play a position on offense that had anything to do with the ball. I played left tackle on offense until 7th grade. I played all over on defense. I was a running back and linebacker in junior high. I loved it. It fueled my reasons why I wanted to play after high school. My freshmen season the varsity coaches asked me to move to left tackle again. My response was whatever position got me on the field the soonest. I started varsity at left tackle as a sophomore. We are one of the largest 3a schools in the state of Iowa so playing as a sophomore doesn't happen often. I am very proud of that accomplishment. We made the quarter finals both my freshmen and sophomore seasons. Another huge accomplishment. My junior season went well. I was awarded the sportsmanship award from the team. The upperclassmen took me in when I was young so It was my duty to work with the younger players and help them as much on the field and in the weight room as well. My desire and work ethic are stronger than ever and I believe I can play at the next level. Football has taught me more than just the game. It has made me work hard in the classroom as well. I want to combine by football abilities and hard work in the class room into a college education. Football will help me get to my goals.
