Shawn Boos '19 Recruiting Profile

My passion for the game of football began at a very young age. My older brother, by almost six years, is an avid athlete, and my two uncles who were  very influential on my early years, are avid football fans. Our Fall weekends during my younger years were spent attending area high school football games and Kansas State University football games.  I began my football career playing flag football in first grade and transitioned to tackle football my fourth grade year. My coaches at the grade school level instilled the team philosophy and work ethic of correct tackling, blocking, and offensive (running the ball) techniques  as well as "giving it my all" on every play of every game. 

Football has allowed me to be bring leadership to my team, encouraging all players to give their all to support the team.  I do my best to lead by example on and off  the field, as I am President of my school's FFA chapter. I lead my team in tackles and give my all each time I am given the ball on offense. Currently, the high point of my career has been leading my team to score on the last drive of two different games. Never giving up is my philosophy. 

Academically, I focus on agriculture classes, as it is my aspiration to be a successful cattle rancher. I currently have my own herd of cattle and have cash rented ground the past two years, harvesting a crop of corn both years.  My collegiate goals are to successfully contribute to my football team while moving forward with gaining additional knowledge in the areas of business and agriculture to achieve my dreams.
