December 2013 ~~Greater Louisville Coaches Association names Brandon Peege to the All District teams (Second Team - Kicker)!
What makes a person who they are or who they will become? I am Brandon Peege and one of the major events that affected my life was watching one of my teachers’ die of cancer. He showed me through all of his actions that he had will power. He showed me this by coming to school almost every day even with all of the problems; the treatments and the pain that he had going on with his body. He did this over a span of three years, and he fought till the very end hoping to beat this disease. He showed me if you want something bad enough you must persevere, you must keep trying and to never give up. You must have the “will power” to make it happen by doing all you can every step of the way. I’ve played football since 8th grade I had wanted to play all through middle school but I was not allowed to start playing till my 8th grade year. Thankfully I had some good friends that were playing football in high school that were able to convince my mom that I would be fine and she should let me give it a try. The only real obstacle that I have had to overcome in my life to get where I am today is finding a way to convince my mom to allow me to play football. The high school friends from church worked! Through playing sports (soccer & football) I have learned leadership skills that have been able to help me bring up spirits of the team when we needed it most. Being a defensive player in soccer I directed the play providing leadership to the other players on the field. On the football field it’s on the sidelines that my leadership has grown encouraging the guys not to give up no matter what happens, even if everyone around me had their heads down I knew that I had to keep my head up because leadership comes from leading by example. A unique skill I possessed was in my 8th grade year I was able to kick a 40 yard field goal and now in my sophomore year I am able to make a 50 yard field goal. I believe that this was possible because most of my life I have played soccer and played defense and my job was to make sure that no one got back to the goal so I made sure that happened one way or another, and then I would clear the ball out down field. My academic goals for high school are to obtain straight A’s and graduate near the top of my class. When I graduate from High School I want to play football at the College Level and then move on to the NFL. My goals for collage are to major Professional Sales / Marketing. Someday I would like to own my own company!
