I have always successfully played many sports in my life, but the game of football has consumed me. It is my dream to play in college at the highest level of exposure and competition possible and to have the opportunity to learn from the best coaching staff. I know my personality, intelligence, size and arm will bring success under the right program.
Coaches have said that my work ethic is one of my best traits and ability to be a leader in football and basketball. I am 6’ 3”, 2108 lbs and still growing physically and mentally. The game of football has taught me so much and the dream of playing in college motivates me to keep pushing athletically and academically. I am a team player and have made friends for life playing this game.
The largest obstacle I have overcome would definitely be the pandemic where I was kept out of sports and the classroom. In a public school system we were forced online for 2 years. It was a struggle to teach myself and be isolated for so long unable to compete in sports. I learned to appreciate every opportunity that God gives me. My football family and my family are everything to me. I will never take life and freedoms for granted and am willing to do whatever it takes to be the best I can be in my job as a student athlete and leader.
My junior year I was QB for Speedy Elite 7v7 playing for Dontez Byrd in Louisville KY. Our team had a successful travel Season and won the Dream All-American Bowl played in Lucas Oil Stadium going 10-0. I study under UofL QB Brock Domann here in Louisville and have played at the Varsity level at Atherton high school all 3 years. This past year we were district champs and I was runner up all district QB. In addition to Quarterback, I am on special teams and am a punter for the team, awarded all district. I am very coordinated in throwing and kicking. I am also a second year Varsity basketball player and have played soccer, baseball and was a gymnast for 7 years.
Recently I transferred schools to Pleasure Ridge Park High School which is a 6A school to play more competitive schools and be coached by 2 NFL coaches Brandon Dunn and Keith Towbridge. While it was a difficult decision to move this was the best opportunity for me to grow and be seen my senior year. The best is definitely yet to come. I have already learned so much from both of these UofL players who played in the NFL along with many other amazing coaches at PRP. This year I am the QB for P2P 7v7 and recently lead our team far in the Championship in Houston Texas.
My personality is laid back, but driven. I never give up. I am calm under pressure which allows me to see plays and stay focused in the game. I am a loyal friend who unites and supports my teammates. I like to help other people and am currently working as a peer mentor with special needs athletes in my highschool and volunteer with the Special Olympics of Kentucky. I have often gotten teammate of the year in multiple sports and always get along with and respect the Coaches and teammates.
Through playing football I have learned there is nothing I can't do with hard work and discipline. I know playing at the collegiate level would change my entire life. My parents have taught me the value of hard work and focus. I plan on majoring in business in college and desire to succeed both on the field and in the classroom.
