Personal Statement
I started football when I was 6 years old. After that first year, I knew I loved football and decided I wanted to play at the college level. My dad told me to just have fun for the next couple of years and then if I still liked it in 7th Grade, we could start getting serious. In 8th grade, I started training harder than I ever had before by lifting weights, doing plyometrics, running and learning how to eat right. I've attended many local and out of state camps to improve my skills, to include two FBU camps. I was selected for Top Gun in 2013. During 8th grade, I left the optimist and started playing on the freshman and JV team for Bullitt East High School where I was the strongest freshman player in the weight room and one of the fastest on the field. My true freshman year I was a full back, defensive end, linebacker and special teams. My sophomore year I played defensive end and fullback. Being in my 10th year of football, I know my career wont last forever, thus the reason I would like to continue playing football in college. After college, I'd like to go into coaching, strength training or physical therapy. My father, who is an above knee amputee and a police sergeant in Louisville, taught me a strong work ethic, perseverance, and how to never give up. He has been on the TV show The First48 and has helped many new amputees through the years. And since I was also born with a condition called Craniosynostosis and had surgery at 8 weeks old to correct it, I want to use football as a stage where I can also reach out to parents of other kids with the same birth condition to let them know it is not the end of the world.
