My name is Connor John. I live in Crestwood, KY, a town just outside of Louisville. This fall, I will be entering my senior season with South Oldham High School. At 6’2” and 210 pounds, I consider myself a vocal leader with a high football intellect. I have an extremely versatile skill set combining natural ball skills with a very physical, competitive mindset.
Since youth football, I have been competing at a high level. Twice I have played on a national stage competing for the state of Connecticut All Star team at the AYF National Championships in Orlando, FL. Most recently playing in 2010 as quarterback and safety.
I began my high school career at Southington High School in Southington, CT: a perennial powerhouse in Connecticut football. I lettered as a freshman playing the second string quarterback position and successfully led the offense in a few games. This experience was invaluable as I transitioned to slot receiver/tight end, winning the starting job my sophomore year in 2012. As the 2012 season began, my play was defined as the “go to” possession receiver making key receptions over the middle of the field in critical end of game situations. The 2012 season was a season to remember as our team finished undefeated, but unfortunately lost in the quarterfinals of the LL state tournament. For me personally, the season was a success as I led the state of Connecticut at TE in receptions (28) and was 2nd in receiving yards (326) and touchdowns (5). In addition, I continued my role as the backup quarterback.
In the spring of my sophomore year, I found out we had to move to the Louisville Kentucky area. Although, I was disappointed to leave my teammates, I looked at the move as an opportunity to continue to develop myself as a football player under a new coach and team. I got involved in spring football immediately and established myself as a leader. Due to my size and athleticism I was asked to be the starting middle linebacker. For the first time in South Oldham school history, we went undefeated in district play, became the undisputed district 5 champion and number one seed from our region. We lost in the quarterfinals and finished the season 8-4. I was honored with a number of awards including South Oldham Defensive MVP, All District Team, and All State honors across all classes.
All of my current focus is in preparation for the upcoming season. This offseason I plan to compete at a number of camps and combines including Nike Sparq, Rivals Series, NUC and others to further advance my football skills. My primary goal in the final season as a high school football player is to get past the quarterfinals and win a state championship.
After that I hope to make an impact playing at the collegiate level, hopefully for you. I am a winner. I am always working one hundred percent because I know there are thousands of kids out there competing with me for the same opportunity. I hope that you are able to see me play next season. Below I have included a link to my Hudl scouting page for you to view as it includes highlight videos and my athletic information.

Academically, I am very determined and focused. Beginning with my freshman year I challenged myself by taking AP classes including Project Lead the Way programs. I currently have a 3.7 GPA and scored a 23 on my first attempt at the ACT. I plan on retaking the ACT until I get a score that, I believe, portrays my best work. My goal is to score in the range of 28-30. In addition, I plan to take the SAT this March with a goal score of 1880 out of 2400. I plan on studying sports medicine.
