Nicholas Morton '16 Recruiting Profile

I am Nicholas (Nick) Morton. I am a 6'2", 220lbs Tight End on the Saint Thomas More High School (Class of 2016) in Lafayette, Louisiana. Academically, I have maintained a 3.5 GPA during my first three years at St. Thomas More, completed 9 honors classes and one AP course. My other activities include involvement in my school's Campus Ministry and FCA and playing guitar in a local rock band. Everything about the game of football excites me. The feeling before every play when I settle into my stance is exhilarating because I know only I can control the outcome of a battle that is directly in front of me. I love the mental challenges; calling out assignments, adjusting the protections and reading the coverage. I embrace the position of a leader on the field. I strive to make sure my team functions as a unit; every player getting their job done on every play. I consider myself a dual threat tight end. My long arms and strong hands have served me well when catching passes. I am also an extremely aggressive blocker, with quick feet and good balance. My best attributes as a player are confidence, poise and honesty. I am confident in my abilities, poised when faced with adversity and honest in my need for improvement. The game of football has taught me so much as an individual and as a member of a team. I hope that college provides the opportunity to continue to learn the lessons the game of football provides and reach the ceiling of my abilities because I know I have big up-side.
