Personal Statement
I was born in Miami, FL; nevertheless, I grew up in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico and lived there until 2012. In Mexico football is not very popular but I still found a way to play the sport I love. I joined the OFASE league in Cancun, and had to travel 4hrs to play. Nonetheless, it was definitely worth it. I played Quarterback and Linebacker and served as player/coach many times. I moved to Thibodaux, LA in the summer entering my sophomore year. I went from an 20 player roster in Mexico to a 102 player roster in Thibodaux. Regardless of the circumstances, I was determined to make my mark in the American gridiron. With dedication I made the varsity team, was named most valuable special teams player and lettered my first year there. I continued with my determination and a year later I was selected as captain by my teammates. I am a very committed person in everything I do. The sport of football is my passion, I am a student of the game and I cherish playing it. I describe my style of play as aggressive and team-oriented. I maintain gap responsibility and never put myself before the team. I consider my self a leader both on and off the field. In addition to being Football Captain I am Co-Captain of the state champion Varsity Academic Team. My studies are very important to me. I am a highly motivated person and I will contribute to a team my absolute best at any role I can help to make the team better. My dream is to play college football at a place that will give me the opportunity to challenge myself and excel not only on the field but in the classroom.
