Personal Statement
I can remember standing in line for 3 hours with my mom on my ninth birthday to get my football signed by Drew Brees. The Saints were playing the Jaguars that weekend and it was the theme of my birthday party. That summer I went to Tiger football camp at LSU with Les Miles, and in the fall I had the amazing opportunity to run on to the field with the LSU football team proceeding a game. Ironically, I only played two seasons of rec football when I was younger as baseball was my preference. But my mom and dad knew that when I went to high school they would want me to play football. The truth is I am built for football, and now I can't imagine ever not playing. I feel confident I will play at the college level, and aspire to ultimately play in the NFL. I joined JV as an eighth grader, and started many Varsity games as a freshmen. Currently, I am a sophomore at ArchBishop Hannan in Covington, Louisiana. I am 6'5" 285 lbs. I started every game in my 2015-2016 season, and made All-District Honorable Mention. My team finished with a 7-4 record with a playoff birth. I have made outstanding improvements in the weight room considering I started working out at the beginning of 2015. My technique has improved significantly thanks to my new coach, Scott Wattigny, who has helped me develop my skills due to his advanced knowledge of the offensive and defensive line. Coach Watt as we call him has introduced us to so many new things. We endure a serious training regimen and have adopted individually customized nutrition plans. I love every aspect of being part of the team- the hard work, the accountability, the competition and the brotherhood. I, also, believe that my participation and dedication has made me a better student, friend and son. Above all, my team mates and coaches are my extended family and I take that very seriously and am there for my brothers on and off the field.
