Personal Statement
I'm Nick and my football career is what inspired me to continue my education and continue to fight.
When I was first starting out in football I didn't come off the field once and to this day I don't come off on defense. I couldn't figure out why I played football though. I loved football it's what drove my life it is my driving force and motivation behind everything I do; when I am down and don't want to do work I think about what would happen to my football career. My life outside of football has been hard growing up in Northampton was easy enough but in Holyoke it wasn't so easy. In Holyoke a young man by the name Jean Carlos was murdered in cold blood that young man was six years older than me and I was 10. There was also a officer shot at my school the same year. Jean Carlos was my older brothers closest friend and came looking for me after it happen. That rough part of my life shaped me into the person I am I lost my cousin to cancer who I had played against and it was the hardest thing ever to go through such a loss of young, talented, smart, non-ghetto people. It was really hard and football has kept my head on through it all. Now I live in Northampton, have escaped that, and I've excelled in football I aim to be all western mass next year. Through all this I also found a male role model I look up to which I never had which feels like w father figure. My head coach, mom, grandparents, and brother encouraged me to raise my grades; I found a love and passion for chemistry and math. I have the mental and physical capacity to do so much and I will take full advantage of my opportunities football has provided me. So people say football is their life well football really saved mine and continues to.
