Personal Statement
My name is Damon Reynolds, I am 17 years old and I am a member of the Class of 2018. I am an honor roll student who carries a 3.4 G.P.A. and I have been improving my grades every year I have been in high school. I have been working hard because I understand and appreciate the importance that a good education has on my life. I realized as an eighth grader that the key to my future was to do as well as I could in school, so that I could get into the college of my choice and ultimately receive an education that would enable me to work in a field that would allow me to have a long and enjoyable career. The program of study I have chosen is Exercise Science or Kinesiology with the hopes of one day being a college strength and conditioning/football coach.
I have been playing football for 7 years and my goal is to play college football while pursuing my degree. I started at Center as a Freshman and at Offensive Guard and Defensive Tackle as a Sophomore, earning All Conference Honorable Mention honors. As a Junior I was elected a team captain, started at Offensive Guard and Defensive tackle and earned 1st Team All Conference honors on both sides of the football. I also earned All Conference All Academic Team honors. I am a dedicated person not only to my sport and academics, but also to my physical fitness, teammates and my family. I currently bench 315 lbs, squat 500 lbs, dead lift 535 lbs and run a 5.8 40 yard dash. Aside from weight training I also participate in Spring Track throwing the Shot Put and Discus.
Above all of these things I have many attributes that cannot be measured. I have the heart and determination to battle through any challenge without falling short of my goals. I believe much of this is due to my strong family background. I live in Houlton, Maine with my Mother, Father and two younger brothers. We are members of the Maliseet Tribe and in our Native American community I was raised with many values from our culture that other people just don't possess. I would love the opportunity to bring these values to my future college teammates and campus.
