Personal Statement

I am a senior at Deering High School in Portland, ME. I am currently 6'1" 215 lbs. In athletics I am a three varsity-sport athlete in football, wrestling, and outdoor track. I'm currently a Captain of the varsity football team and the varsity wrestling team. This year I look forward to leading the wrestling team, but my biggest plans are set within my football season. I've been playing football since I was eight years old, and have had aspirations to play college football since I was in ninth grade. My goal for my senior year is to be All State. In the off-season I've grown stronger and more discipline with my workout regiment and healthy eating habits, I know I have the ability to reach this goal. It's important for me to maintain in the off season because I know my hard work and self motivation will pay off when we beat our competition. I would contribute this same attitude to my college team because it is my dream of playing at a higher level that has driven me to work as hard as I do. I extend my strong work habits to the classroom, where I make school my first priority. I've taken various Honors classes since my freshman year, my favorite one being Anatomy and Physiology. I always stress to my teammates that having good grades and maintaining their academics is important because I know that if I perform well in the classroom it will translate to the football field. My interests are in the field of Sports Medicine and Nutrition in college. Wrestling: 2015 State Championship placed 5th in the 220lb weight class. Currently attending Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts.
