Personal Statement
Hello coaches reading this statement my name is John Josiah Jr. My Father and Mother moved to the U.S with my four sisters to escape the violent civil war that was destroying Liberia at the time. I was born in Washington DC and raised in Maryland. I was raised in a rough neighborhood that got rougher as time went on.I lost friends due to the violence in the area and have always valued my life and freedom because of that. My freshman year I allowed what was happening around me to influence me, this heavily affected my grades and ultimately lead to me not playing my sophmore year. Then and there I decided to make a change I removed everyone and everything in my life that was holding me back and got my grades on track. I returned to football stronger then ever and started both my junior and senior year. I have all the drive in the world and I am truly just trying to make something of myself to avoid the path I've seen so many of my friends take. I love football and anywhere that would give me a chance for playing for them wouldn't regret I always keep working and would love just a chance at playing the sport I love so dearly.
