Jarel Carter '12 Recruiting Profile

Hello coaches! My name is Jarel Carter and I am now a high school senior at Cass technical High school in Detroit, MI. So far in my four years at this school I have played all 4 years of football but 9th and 10th grade I was on the JV team and only started my 10th grade year, since 9th grade was my first year ever playing a contact sport. The thing about me is that football has become my life. It's become a year round thing for me with no breaks and I'm really ok with it because I have fallen in love with it. At Cass I play on the Offensive Line right now as the starting CENTER but I have also been known to play as Guard my junior year. I may seem small to play center but at 6’2”, 230+ pounds I am able to do my job effectively and I think that shows in my highlights.

My 11th grade year I did not start but enjoyed when I did play as my team and I rolled through the state of Michigan with an undefeated record reaching 12-0, but losing in the state semi-finals. The next year (current year) we came back and won our districts first ever state Championship, which I was a part of!

Off the field, I am very attentive and a laid back person. I take direction well, or give direction when need be. I receive good grades in school and never a distraction to others. I feel I would be a great fit on many teams. I know I can play center but I hope to get on a college team and expand my skills with what the coach sees fit. I would be able to try the positions to fit my abilities. I know I would make a great asset to any team and I hope they allow me to show my skills. If a coach would allow me to further my education and play football at the same time in a great school, it would be excellent. I hoped to stay near Michigan but there are thousands of great schools to choose from. My hope is to choose one that fits me best!
