To: The Collegiate Coach seeking to recruit the Right Football Candidate

Hello, my name is Mark Robbins and I am seeking a scholarship to a reputable university that mirrors my football and academic aspirations. When it comes to football and academics, I give it my all! I work hard year-round alternating sports activities so I can perform best when it counts on the field. I also take summer courses preparing for PSAT, ACT and other coursework so I will not lose my academic edge. I believe good health, nutrition, rest and balance (living a clean life) to be the key to remain alert and on task. I have been taught from a very early age that NOTHING is free, cheap or easy!
My character is cut from living (and co-existing) in a large family. I am third in line of six siblings and live in an atmosphere where everyone is held accountable. My consistency with "the game" comes from my upbringing, where caring, sharing, and supporting each other's goals are necessary for team success. To succeed in a large family, you need to be able to listen, be willing to sacrifice, you need to share, and above all you need to have integrity! In football.......the team is my family who carries the same responsibilities!
In athletics I am a hard worker who alternates sports through-out the seasons to stay in condition. I focus on eating right, nutrition, getting proper rest, while living a clean life that makes my parents proud. Having and experiencing a truly successful athletic carrier takes balance and knowledge. I understand how to balance sports, academics and social life for success and never take for granted one over the other since all three are intertwined within a successful athlete.
Academics holds the key for both my immediate and long term career. I take academic success seriously as I believe knowledge holds the key for life's independent situations and events (planned or unplanned), where using your head is critical to achieving your goal or final outcome. I will maintain the highest standards for education and strive to exceed 3.5 GPA in every course I attend.
