My name is Devin Ogle, and I am a senior at Kearney High School. I've played as a defensive starter on our varsity soccer team since my freshman year, but had an opportunity to play varsity football when our team needed a kicker. I had a lot of success this season with 27 touchbacks on 60 kickoffs, and going a perfect 8 for 8 on field goals and 30 for 30 on extra points.
This season I was put into a very intense situation when my team needed a field goal to get the lead with 53 seconds left in the game. We were able to make the field goal and win against a big rival and our former head coach. It was truly the highlight of our season. I loved playing football; there is really nothing like the excitement of the game, the fans, and the teamwork that goes along with it. In our town football is what people look forward to all week. I know I can be an asset to a college team because I am a dedicated team player and can handle the stress of game situations.
