Personal Statement
Christmas of 2015, my 21 year old brother was coming home from college for Christmas vacation. When he arrived home he got sick, was taken to the hospital by ambulance, and died later that night from Bacterial Meningitis. Nothing has influenced my life more than seeing my brother alive for the last time being taken away in an ambulance thinking he would be home the next day. I have learned that life is very short. He was brilliant. He had a passion for Geology and was to spend the summer doing internships and being published. His legacy to me is that you do what you love, give it your all, and do the best job that you can do. I will live the rest of my life trying to be as great as he was.
My mom and dad say that when I was born, they had to go to the pediatric unit of the hospital to get diapers because the nursery didn't have any that fit. Football is just in my genes. My grandfather, who is probably the biggest influence in my life, played at West Point. I like that I can be a leader on the field. I like the physical part of the game. I like that it is just as much mental as it is physical. I also shoot Trap because it takes precise timing, accuracy and patience.
Going to college has never been an option. I have always known that it will be the next step after high school. Education is very important to me. My freshman year I played on the Freshman, Sophomore, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams. I still managed to keep my grades at a 3.8 GPA. I understand that my college education is what will be the foundation for my future. I look at whomever gives me a scholarship as an employer. My job is to perform which means giving it my all with dedication and discipline.
I have always been a team leader. I am the first to show up and the last to leave. I am reliable and know that my integrity is my legacy.
