My name is Graham Reagan Miller. I am a 6'1" 190 lb. middle linebacker for Washburn High School, a Minneapolis public school that just won its 13th straight Conference championship. My dream since I was first able to throw a football was to play college football and follow in the footsteps of my grandfather who played at Dakota Wesleyan University before he went on to a 30+ year career in coaching high school and college football. I love the game of football because of the discipline and work ethic it has instilled in me as well as the opportunity to compete and succeed at a high level from middle school through my recently concluded junior year. In early December 2013 I was proud to have been selected First Team All Conference for the city of Minneapolis. In addition to my leadership on the defensive side of the ball, I led my team, section and all of Minnesota Division 5A in tackles. This included 101 tackles, 8 tackle for a loss, 4 sacks, and 3 Forced Fumbles.
My goal is to play football at the highest level my skills and character will allow in order to equip me to pursue an education in Human Biology. With this degree I hope to become a Physical Therapist to aid people recovering from injury. A more long-term goal would be to take my skills to a professional sports setting to assist pro athletes in the road to recovery from injury.
I would bring to any football program character, toughness and leadership which I learned not only on the gridiron, but through my multi-year participation in the Naval Sea Cadet program. Durability is also one of my characteristics. In addition to starting every game, I played through a broken thumb and sprained ankle on the way to only missing 6 plays this year.
My senior year I hope to be named a team captain. My goal is to have 140 tackles on the season, be in the top 10 in the state of Minnesota in tackles and make 1st team All State. In the classroom, I would like to have at least a 3.5 GPA at graduation. I hope to increase my strength and speed this offseason. To that end, I have been in the weight room every day since our final game. I will be working with a speed coach this summer just as I have each of the last 2 summers.
I would be an excellent contributor to any program that would have me and I would welcome an opportunity to talk more about my accomplishments and goals with anyone who would consider allowing me to play for their college or university. Thank you for your consideration.
