Personal Statement
Dear Prospective Coaches,
Thank you very much for spending time looking at my profile and considering me for your program. I view college football as a chance for me to receive the highest level of education possible, and the chance to continue to play the sport I love. This not only excites me, it fills me with an enormous passion to improve my skills. I have always been the type of player who gives 100%, but now I demand that of my fellow teammates, filling them with the same passion.
I believe that football is a game of technique, effort and personal commitment. I spend 5 days a week working out in the weight room as well on Hudl to give myself that mental edge over my opponent. The studying of my opponents tendencies benefits me greatly, as I started 7 out of the 9 games of my sophomore year. Not only do I prepare myself for the big game on Friday night lights mentally, I also take hours out of my day to physically prepare. 3 out of the 5 days I'm in the weight room using specific exercises that help me become a better student athlete.
Not only does the hard work I put into the field and weight room stay there, it carries into my classrooms. My academics may not be in honors or AP classes yet, I take the initiative that a select few student athletes do, to talk to my teacher after school to ask about a certain problem or issue I'm having with the lesson. I use self help sites to further my understanding about that specific lesson. I try my hardest to maintain my high school GPA above 3.00.
As a student athlete, I help the community that gave this amazing opportunity to me. I help with youth football camps to further improve the next generation after me. I also take time to help the other high school athletics by volunteering for something such as stadium clean up so that the visiting opponents and all other visitors could say they maintain their field well.
I want to attend college in the hopes of getting the highest level of football and education. I am currently open to every option. I hope that i will become a terrific role model to my parents, friends, coaches and my community.
Again, I thank you very much for your time, and your considerations involving me joining your program. Please feel free to contact me by email at <[email protected]> or by my mobile phone (651) 408-2217.
Regards,
Josh Kawlewski
