Personal Statement
Although I consider myself a small town farm boy, college has been a goal of mine since I can remember. But I don't just want to attend college; I want to be a college athlete, more specifically a college football player while I pursue my academic interests in mathematics and science. I love all aspects of football: the strategy, teamwork, physical contact, and competition. I believe I am the whole package when it comes to a college football recruit. I have the size, mentality, and athleticism to excel as an offensive center, guard or tackle. I also have experience at many defensive positions, but I consider the O-line my specialty. Most people want the fame and glory of making the tackles, scoring touchdowns, and being in the spotlight, but I believe the true heart and soul of the team comes from the trenches of the O-line. Offensive linemen must be intelligent, fundamentally sound, and determined to work hard on and off the field to get the job done for their team.
I have been playing varsity football since my freshman year and I have become not only an all-state athlete, but a leader on the football field and in the classroom. I strive to be the best that I can be at every aspect of my life whether it be academics or athletics. I am not only a football player but I am a well-rounded individual. I play varsity basketball and I am a repeat state qualifying golfer, as well as an honor student in the top 10% of my class. I plan to use the skills that I have learned and the character traits that I possess to follow my dreams to be a successful college athlete and ultimately a successful person in life.
