Dedicated, Relentless, and Determined are the characteristics that describe Matt Baker, both as an athlete and as a person. I am currently a junior at Branson High School (5A). I demonstrate athletic excellence as well as maintaining a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. Leadership is one trait I exhibit daily. I am involved in Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and National Honor Society at my high school. Also, I am part of the Student Leadership Team at my church.
It has always been my goal to play football at the college level. This past season I started all ten of our varsity games as Defensive End and Offensive Tackle. This previous year I played Defensive End and Tight End; however, I was needed on the offensive line this past year due to my size. At the collegiate level, I believe that I can be a great asset to a team playing as a Defensive End, Tight End, or Linebacker. One thing I would want colleges to know about me is that the most important thing in my life is living for Jesus Christ. I am very grounded in my faith; it is an important dynamic in the process of selecting a college. I see myself as a prospect playing NCAA D-II or NAIA, where I can develop my athleticism and character.
