Personal Statement
At a young age I was asked "Do you want to be good, or do you want to be GREAT?". I chose to be GREAT in all aspects of my life. I work hard in the classroom (4.45 g.p.a., ranked 2nd in my class). This hard work was recognized by receiving ALL-STATE ACADEMIC ATHLETE three years in a row! I work hard attending leadership camps and conferences to be a better person and leader in my community, and I also work hard at practice and in the weight room to better my team as well as myself. I have done anything asked of me by my team as evidenced in the fact that I have started Varsity as a Deffensive Tackle/End, Offensive Guard and Tackle, as well as the team's Long Snapper. I am in a starting position on both sides of the ball, only resting during Kick-off's. Through hard work, I have earned both offensive and defensive awards including 1st Team Defensive line: ALL-STATE (Two Years,Second Team Sophomore year, FIRST TEAM Junior Year), All-Region (Two Years), All-Area (Two Years) All-Conference (Two Years). As an Offensive Lineman, I was also First Team All-Conference, All-Region, and All-Area. Yes, I DOMINATE on the field, in the classroom, and my community. It is both humbling, and a great responsibilty realizing how younger students look up to me as an athlete, as well as a positive role model. I was recently told that a first grader commented, "Everyone knows Marek!".
This is my fourth year as a four sport Varsity player competing in Football, Track, Baseball and Basketball, as well as playing as much golf and paintball as I can in my spare time.
