Hello, my name is Austin Rodriguez and I’m a 6’0 190 lb. Senior at Webster Groves HS in Webster Groves MO. I've played on Varsity for three years. This past year I've had some illnesses and injuries that limited my playing time. It's because of this that I've included a few plays that show some linebacker skills across all three of my varsity playing years. I am a team player and not many will prep like me. I love defense and enjoy playing linebacker because I’m able to best use my intellectual and physical abilities to read offenses and make adjustments putting my teammates and myself in the best possible place to make plays.
I enjoy learning as much as playing football. I've taken as many AP and Honors classes as I've been able to, (AP classes include Physics, U.S Studies, Calculus, Psychology, and Literature and Composition.). I scored a 32 on the ACT and took it again on 12/10. I also have a 1470 Super Score on the SAT. I currently have a weighted 3.9 GPA on a 4.0 scale. I am in my fourth year of being an assistant coach for the middle school football team that I used to play for. I toured the Galapagos Islands during Spring Break of my Junior year. I've taken French as a class and I enjoy teaching myself other languages during my free time. I've taught myself guitar and piano over the last two years and am currently taking a guitar class at school. I've been in National Honor Society since junior year. I took the ACT in 7th grade and gained acceptance into the Duke TIP progra
I know I want to attend a very strong academic college or university, and if I am able to continue to play football I want my education to come first. I want to go to a place that provides the impetus for me to grow as a person, drives me to learn as much as possible in the classroom, and allows me to be part of a football team of great people that I can build lasting friendships with on and off the football field.
