As a student athlete, I realize the importance of balancing athletics with my studies. I did not realize this until I was a sophomore in high school, as I did not take my classes as seriously as I should have. But as I have gotten older I have changed my focus to improving my education and my on-field performance. I am looking forward to college, where I plan to play football and earn a degree in Education so then I can help kids like me realize their goals and help guide them in the right direction.
I have been a four-year special teams starter for my high school football team, and I am currently No. 55 in Rubio Long Snapping's rankings for the Class of 2017. I am the type of person who is the first one to jump in to help the team be successful, whether that is on the scout team or helping build sets for a play. In my school, I am usually the student who welcomes and gets to know the new kid in our school. In July 2016, I attended the 77th session of Missouri Boys State; based on the leadership I displayed throughout the week and my love for the program, my counselor asked me to come back next year to be a staff member.
I am contributor in my community, working to help families who are not able to give their children a Thanksgiving or a Christmas. I work with my church youth group, which has also done a lot of community outreach. I hope to find a college home where I will be able to continue being active in the classroom, on the football field and in the community.
