Personal Statement
My love for the game of football really started at the age of 12 when I started playing Jr. High football. With my wrestling background, I had plenty of experience taking people down, but the contact, thrill, and gritty situations that came with football made my passion grow.
My freshman year was a growing year for my team and I, but my sophomore season we received a new coach and things really took off. During the regular season that year we ended up losing to the 2015 State Champs by two points. Later that year we had a decent playoff run, losing to Hot Springs, who later became our biggest rival.
This last season, we had a great regular season winning the division with a perfect record. We went into the playoffs as the number one seed in the North. Later we ended up losing in the semi-final game to Hot Springs. A terrible repeat from last years playoffs. The feeling that gave me has only motivated me to work harder to achieve the goal of winning a state title.
I feel I could bring leadership skills to the table from previously being a 2x football team captain and a 3x wrestling team captain. Besides working hard on the field, I also maintain a 3.8 GPA in the classroom, and am currently the student body president, and a member of the National Honor Society. With my passion for the game, hard working attitude, and my ability to grit out tough situations, I feel I can compete competitively at the collegiate level.
