Personal Statement
I first became interested in football when I was in the fourth grade when I joined a flag football team. Immediately, I realized that I love the sport and have played it ever since. Throughout my years of football I have learned many essential life lessons. For instance, my freshman year when a key player on the varsity team was hurt in the first game of the season, I learned that I could handle anything that life throws my way. I embraced the opportunities and obstacles and even won the starting spot when that player returned. The next year, after my team failed to make it to the state playoffs, I learned that willpower and determination are needed to win games. This year I used all the knowledge I have learned and helped to lead my team to the playoffs, suffering only one loss. Football had one more lesson for me though; in the first playoff game I was taught that it takes a whole team using all the willpower and determination they have to win a championship. This year I have made it my goal to inspire my fellow teammates using an iron will and relentless determination to not only make it passed the first round of playoffs, but all the way to the state championship.
I believe that these skills I have learned through football will help to propel me to the next level of competition. My work ethic and leadership skills will be a valuable asset to any team, and I am very good at altering to fit my surroundings. This will allow me to fit in anywhere, and help my team in multiple ways.
