Growing up on the Southwest Mississippi Community College campus allowed me to attend all sports camps and college sports team practices. When I was six years old my church youth minister ask me what I was going to do when I grow up. I told him I was born to play football. I attended all S.M.C.C. football games because my dad was Basketball Coach, Dean Of Students and later served as President of the College for six years. When I was five, I always took a football to all S.M.C.C. games and would get 4 to 10 kids to play football at both home and away games I started playing flag football at my school in the first grade. In our first game I ran for a touchdown the first two times I got the ball. I played quarterback every year through the ninth grade. During the eight and ninth grade, when I could get to S.M.C.C. football practice, Coach Charles Anthony (now at Delta State College as Defensive Coordinator) would get me to throw passes to wide receivers. I loved throwing those passes. In the spring of my ninth grade we got a new head football coach and he had a rule that you had to go through spring training if you wanted to play quarterback. I play baseball and could not participate in spring training. I had a chance to play quarterback some this past season but mainly played wide receiver. I will be the starting quarterback next year and Coach Mike Powell is changing our offense to more passing plays. I am very, very dedicated to improving my passing skills and continue to study all defensive alignments. I would love to play for a college coach who uses a lot of passing routes in his offensive game plan. i
