Personal Statement
I am from the Flathead Indian Reservation in Montana and play for a perennial cellar dwelling team that only has 4 seniors on it. I am a 320 pound lineman that plays both ways but prefers offense. This year St. Ignatius is now 4-1 and looks like it will be the first winning team in over a decade and probably go to the playoffs.
I currently have a GPA of 3.2 and am scheduled to take the SAT on Oct. 9th. As a junior I was all conference defense and honorable mention on offense on a team that did not win any games. While I have been told that I could play Div I, I feel that college should be about my education and would be just as comfortable playing at any level providng that the school has the degree that I am hoping to attain.
It is my hope to study performing arts/Film/theatre once in college with possibly having a minor in business. Once college is complete, I hope to serve in Peace Corps before entering into the workforce. My overall goal is to eventually become a producer/sreenwriter. However, I realize that I need to go to a school that will have study aids/ groups and tutors as I currently attend a small school that teaches to the level of students going to the local tribal community college. Thus I realize that I am not a speedy reader which usually hurts my scores when I take standardized tests and with our school only having one science teacher, I realize that I have learned what he covered but not much else and from what I can tell he didn't really cover that much.
Overall though I am looking forward to college and hope that I can attend somewhere that does not have the only one season as I really do enjoy the change in seasons. There is just someting about the feel of the crisp fall air and steam off a player under the game lights that makes everything seem right with the world.
