Jonathan McDaid '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jonathan McDaid from Charlotte, North Carolina and I attend Ardrey Kell High School. I’m a Junior Starter (Class of 2016) as a Kicker and Punter for the Ardrey Kell Varsity Football Team. Currently I am 4 ½ Star in both punting and kicking (17th in the Nation for Punting) by Chris Sailer Kicking.

Being on Varsity for 2 years now has made me become a more significant leader on and off the field. This is my 8th year playing football which gives me a great opportunity to lead and be confident with my teammates, coaches, and the high standard of playing at this level (4A). During the weekends I am constantly improving with my kicking coach Dan Orner who has worked with 7 NFL players and over 75 college players.

As a student athlete, academics come before sports. My current weighted GPA is a 3.8 while taking 3 Honors Classes. I plan to take the SAT and ACT along with setting high academic goals to enrich my dedication in the classroom.
This 2014 season in 13 games I was 46-51 in Pat’s (4 Blocked), 2 Field Goals of 36 & 40 yards. My kickoffs averaged 59.3 yards with 15 touchbacks. My punting average was 41.2 with 10+ inside 20 and was second best punting average in Charlotte, NC. In practice I can make 55 yard field goals, but consistent from 45-48 yards. Also my punts are consistent 55-60 yards and 4.0+ hang from my foot.
